Debate Guild – A Reply

This is in reply to a thread started on the forum of, online publishing site, Triond. The aim of the thread was to encourage writers to submit replies to the original post as articles – (rather than comments in the thread) and in doing so increase readership.

I The basic Idea behind this, is that, anyone who wishes to express an opinion on the thread should only do so in the form of a published article.  Rather than debate the likelihood of this succeeding or failing, I will put it to the test.  By publishing this article; and posting it in the original thread I will have proof (within, say 5 days) of the value of this venture.  Depending on the results (positive or negative), there are a number of choices I can make; and I will list five of each below:

Positive results (noticeable increase in views).

  1. Post my views in the original thread.
  2. Encourage others to participate by essentially spamming the forum threads.
  3. Wait until someone else posts a reply; and then publish another article in response to that.
  4. Constantly bump the thread to the top of the list.
  5. Start my own thread, with a similar theme.

Negative results (very little views; and negative comments).

  1. Post replies on the thread, derailing it as a waste of time.
  2. Bury the thread by bumping others to the top of this list.
  3. Never participate in any other view sharing venture.
  4. Report the thread creator for spamming.
  5. Create a thread asking people to share their thoughts on the creator of thread via his/her private mail.

So you can look forward to at least one of the above taking place six days after the link to this article has been posted on the thread.
