Great flash fiction ideas are about capturing a significant moment in time.
Flash fiction is a beautiful art form. Writing flash fiction teaches a writer to make every word count in more than one way. How can a word count in more than one way?
Since the flash fiction story is so short, much of what the writer must get across to the reader has to be implied. This means that the right word must be used in the right place; and in combination with other words, the right word in the right place will allow the reader’s imagination to supply what is not on the page. How cool is that?
The reader is a partner in the creation of the story.
As a one-time teaching assistant of writing, I know it can be difficult to get across this idea of inviting the reader to be part of the creative writing process just by me trying to explain it.
So, let me encourage you to download the Ebook that I wrote in 2005 that is full of examples of what I’m

talking about.
The Ebook is full of action, dialogue, interesting and familiar characters; and it is packed with story lines that are sure to give you ideas for writing your own short stories.
The Ebook reads like a novel. It will help any writer of short stories and flash fiction to become a better writer.
If flash fiction ideas are about capturing a significant moment in time, you will find your own inspiration for writing short fiction in My Ebook for Serious Writers.
