A contest dedicated to all hard-working Triond authors.
For every page of 10 articles I access under Triond’s Content tab, I usually see that one or two of my articles stand out from the rest of the crowd by gaining the most views and accruing the highest earnings.
Some articles return thousands of page views; others do not fare as well, only gaining hundreds of views or even less than that.
It has been a learning process. And every once in awhile, I create an article and am stunned over the page views, reader responses, and subsequent earnings.
This is an open article. A contest actually. I’m inviting Triond writers to comment and share with the rest of us the Triond article that has netted them the most views.
Now, to start things off . . .
The article that has netted me the most page views is: When Someone Insults You: 12 Neat Come-Backs
Which article of yours has gained the most page views? Would you share it with the rest of us?
Please include your article title/URL and the total page views in the Comments box below. It will be interesting to see which writer comes out on top and earns the designation of “King” or “Queen of Content,” with the highest total page views. This is a chance to promote yourself and your work.
When this contest comes to end, I’ll do an interview and include it in a future article as well as linking to it at my writing blog.
It will be a education to learn about top articles with the most page views, what factors made them stand out and why.
Enter the Triond Contest today!

Hi Everyone,
I just included a plug for this contest over at the blog.
In addition to the winning author interview, I will also do a second article discussing the top authors, so if your stats aren’t as high, it still may be a good idea to include them here.

Hi Ruby and Ken,
Thanks for the e-mails about trouble leaving comments at the bottom of this article. I will contact the editors and ask that you do the same to see if we can work out the bug.

Hello, Everyone,
I’ve contacted Triond about posting troubles and if you’ve tried to comment and leave your page view stats and have experienced difficulty, e-mail me at Triond or swing by my writing blog to get contest details: http://www.writeandearnaliving.com

Wonderful idea, Athlyn.
My article with the greatest hit is “10 (more) Bizarre Deaths in History” with 50,783 views.
http://www.purpleslinky.com/Trivia/History/10-More-Bizarre-Deaths-in-History.330669
I know there are many other Triond articles with more 100,000 views.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:36 am
I wrote one on the topic you indicate as your next, about problems with posting comments and the like button; called: Triond: Another Solution Coming. That was my highest viewed.
January 31st, 2009 at 12:25 pm
Wow! Eddie,
Way to go! Those views are fantastic! You should be proud.
January 31st, 2009 at 12:27 pm
Hi A.C.,
Can you please give the total view stats? I can’t consider you for the contest without having a figure for comparison.
January 31st, 2009 at 1:52 pm
Hi Athlyn – what a fun idea… OK, here we go.
I’m kind of ashamed of this one because it took only about an hour to write but it seemed to hit a nerve with people (despite the dreadful screenshots!).
It was 10 Wonderful Websites With Which to Waste Time at Work (I was proud of the alliteration though!).
It can be found here – http://www.webupon.com/Web-Talk/10-Wonderful-Websites-with-Which-to-Waste-Time-at-Work.135360
It was published in June 2008 and is still pulling in the hits.
As of today, the total is 127,370.
We scratch our head sometimes when articles we take forever to write bomb but other articles (and this was a really simple idea at the time even though it was then jumped on by *everyone* lol!) do so much better.
Ho hum!
January 31st, 2009 at 6:38 pm
Absolutely awesome, RJ! It’s exciting to see this contest taking off.
I’ll make a request of everyone to spread the word, if they have time.
And, remember, even if your page views aren’t as high, it’s beneficial to enter the contest because I’ll be compiling a list of the top 10 articles, which should see increased readership. As well, by listing your URL here, readers, who may be interested in your topic, will click on it and go to your article.
Swing by my writing blog http://www.writeandearnaliving.com for contest information.

Hi all!
Echoing Brian’s words, my articles aren’t in the same league as the ones listed here. However, just to have some data out there so we can see how it all adds up, here’s far and away my top article: “Fatherhood: What I Want My Kids to Say About Me.”
http://www.gomestic.com/Family/Fatherhood–What-I-Want-my-Kids-to-Say-About-Me.478875

Thanks for the invitation, Athlyn.
I’m kind of embarrased by the article which had the most page views, because it only took me about an hour to put together, and another half an hour to write up. I’ve written so many literary pieces, which sadly, haven’t had the exposure this one has had. Go figure . . .

Please spread the word if you can think of anyone that should be included.

Songs worth listening too..
it got a lot of mixed reviews.. some people thought it was a “best songs” list and of course everyone has their own ideas on music.. so it was a tough one to deal with for me, because it went farther than I expected and got hated so much.. when really.. its just an opinion.. and we all have those right?
most of my links are on Gomestic – pets and such…which have done okay but none are close to this one for success.

Hi B,
Glad you had success with this article even if it caused a stir.
Hi Mark,
Thanks for your entry. I saw the article about nudibranchs and wondered what they were.
Hi Ianne,
Good title + subtitle. No wonder it got so many views.
Some authors have experienced trouble posting their comments. If this is the case, please e-mail me with your stats so that you are entered into the contest and contact Triond editors.
February 8th, 2009 at 3:53 am
Athlyn Green,
This idea is really good. I would love to participate in this contest. I am a bit shy that I didn’t get anytime more than ten thousand page views.
I will get back with all the titles that I have with good page views that made me happy!
Thanks,
-fornls
February 8th, 2009 at 3:54 am
I have also bookmarked it, as I am sure I will keep checking. I think everyone should bookmark so as not to miss the updates other writers will provide here.
February 8th, 2009 at 5:20 pm
Hi Fornis,
To enter the contest, please provide the URL of your article with the highest page views and the Total number of views. I need this information to determine the winner and the 10 runners-ups.
This is a great chance to draw attention to articles that have been the most popular with readers, to bump up visits to your writer portfolio, and to increase your page views.
February 9th, 2009 at 2:12 pm
Just a reminder: I need the actual total views not an estimate for your contest entry to be valid.
Also, if anyone experiences problems posting here, let me know and I will try to post the info. for you so that your article URL is included here and your article gets the exposure it deserves.
Thanks

February 9th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Athlyn Green,
Sorry, I went back for a longer time. After taking a look at my articles and their page views, I found some interesting things. I may not win the contest (looking at relatively), but would like to share some articles that did well.
This article has got 3570 page views so far. It keeps on getting, I don’t know from where. It is somewhat a mystery to me.
bizcovering.com/Investing/Knowing-the-Book-Value-Per-Share.27148
This article has got 1620 page views so far. I can understand that it is an appealing topic.
healthmad.com/Addiction/What-are-the-Effects-of-Smoking-on-Productivity-At-Work.19901
This has got 1253 views.
gomestic.com/Consumer-Information/Standby-Power-or-Vampire-Power.59351
This is my first article long time back. It is consistent all time. Accumulated 1149 views.
bizcovering.com/Investing/A-Short-Term-Trading-Strategy.27128
After doing all this I just checked the earnings per view and concluded that the earnings are actually half of what was earlier. But at the same time views have recently gone up so much, that overall the effect is compensated. So I think we should be glad that Triond has good advertisers who are continuing through this recession.
Thanks,
-fornls.

Great contest. I can’t wait to see who has the most views : ). Fun future reading!

What an awesome idea for an article! I love it. I’m going to study this list carefully to learn how to write more successful articles. I’m blown away by the number of hits people are getting. I threw a party for myself when one of my articles reached 1,000 views. My current best article is 12 Cats Caught in Funny, Embarrassing, Bizarre, and Compromising Situations: Part One, with 1,692 views:
