Business Proposal for Triond Friends

In this article I explore a potentially-profitable way to collaborate with my new friends at Triond. Implementation of this plan could result in a substantial income for all involved while, in a larger sense, allowing for cultural exchange and cooperation among people who might otherwise never have had the opportunity to enjoy working together.

The basic proposal is outlined in the following ten-steps:

1) Aspiring authors from India search their available resources for original material or public-domain literature or poetry that they would wish to share with the rest of the world.

2) Their selection choices may be discussed with other authors who are working to improve their writing and their English language skills (for example, their friends on Triond!).

3) The authors will translate the selections from the original language to English while attempting to preserve the truth and beauty of the originals.

4) I will then proofread and edit the translations while modifying the language and grammar as little as possible and preserving the expression of the translators as much as possible.

5) The resulting articles will then be posted to Triond for review and feedback from the community of writing friends.

6) Using the feedback from the community, I will save the approved articles to my home computer and create the files necessary for the creation of a book. Here I might also arrange to get (if possible) files showing the original text in the original language. (I might propose that the book to show the original, the translation to English, and then the community-created final version of each article).

7) I will then contact print-on-demand publishers and make arrangements for the printing and distribution of the book. Someone in India could do the same, or we could work together to find a network of printers in order to maximize the availability of the books and minimize the shipping costs.

8) I will work with the community to list the book on sites such as Amazon.com.

9) I will work with the community to create an advertising campaign to be launched on the Internet.

10) I will communicate with someone in India to arrange for the revenue from book sales to be disbursed in whatever manner is deemed to be fair by all involved.

What would you all think about that? I have worked for many years doing similar work here in the U.S., and I have worked to create about 12 books for friends in my region. Some of these authors have made many thousands of dollars (U.S.) in profit, and I would be very happy to support my new friends by providing the same services to them. In addition, I think that this work would be very enjoyable while also supporting the ideas of community and cooperation between nations. What do you think?
