Bloggers and Writers, Here are Some Ideas on Where to Find Content to Write About

Ideas on where to find content to write about. If you are a writer or blogger, take a look and you may find a new source of great ideas.

I wrote this article to suggest ideas to other writers on where to find content to write about. I hope that this helps as I have seen quite a few posts stating that people were having trouble coming up with new and fresh ideas.

1.Research search engines to see what people are searching for.

Most search engines have sites that will list the most popular searches. In this way, you can see what people are currently interested in. Try to find a subject that you are already knowledgeable in as this will save you time on research. Some search engines will also let you look up the popularity of a particular search word. This will let you make sure that a subject is worth writing about. If no one is interested in the subject, no one will read your writing. Below are two useful links to websites that list popular search engine topics. You can also use a search engine to find other pages that list popular search topics.

Google hot trends

AOL hot searches

2.Ask friends and family.

Talk to your friends and family to see if they have any ideas on what you could write about. Sometimes it helps just to talk to another person about ideas. As you discuss certain topics you will find that new topics become apparent. This may also allow you to tap your friends or family’s knowledge. If they offer you an idea that they have sufficient knowledge about, you can use them as a research tool.

 3. Read what others are writing about.

By reading others writing, you might be able to think of ideas that coincide with what they have written. Maybe you will have a different point of view on the subject compared to the author. This will also give you the opportunity to compare your writing style with others. Take the time to see what you like about others writing and try to replicate there writing style.

4. Have a brainstorming session.

You may remember using this writing tool in school. I personally find this to be the best way to come up with new ideas when I am stumped. Take a pencil and paper and find a nice secluded room. Begin writing what ever pops into your mind. Don’t stop to consider what you have written. Just keep writing until you have a good sized list. Then you can take the time to ponder each idea and even look each topic up on a search engine to see what the popularity level is.

These sources of ideas work very well for me and I am sure will work well for you. I know that it can be frustrating when you have the desire to write and are unable due to lack of ideas. Good luck and happy writing..
