Badges can indicate the amount of time a writer has to spend on the activity. Some people are so busy with other activities that they cannot spend as much time on it as they want to.

You have some interesting points. As a person who wishes she had more time to write, I would avoid the word lazy. I do agree that the more article you write the better it is for the individual.
