Four simple steps to building a successful Triond page.
The forums been overrun of late with an endless litany of “please read my stuff” threads. Enough so that it is, at times, difficult to discuss much else other than this problem. Even the ones who are polite become a bit much when there are half a dozen of them simultaneously asking you for advice.
So, for the benefit of new members, here is a list of 4 hints to building a successful triond page.
1. You will not get rich on triond. my last 3 articles collected 913, 915, and 48 views, respectably. On these articles I made just over $2.50. on average you will receive one penny for anywhere from 6-15 hits. There are a few here who make a couple hundred dollars per month, but they are few and far between and VERY good at what they do. Unless you are both an exceptional author who is well versed in current events and outstanding at promoting yourself, you are not one of them. Even if you are, you are still in all likelihood not. Do not enter triond with delusions of wealth.
2. Do not go into the forums and ask for viewers. Regardless of how original you think your reason is, we don’t care. You may pick up a few views. but the 20 or so you get will net you a penny or two. The best way is this:
when you go into the forum and just ask people to read, they get annoyed. you have to realize, every day 50-100 new people stick that crap out there, wait for the hits (always promising to return the hits, of course) and never return the hits. try this… find someone (people in the forums ARE a good place to start.. most of us are pretty good at reading back) read their stuff, put likes on everything, a comment or two (the likes show that you were there, the comments that you actually took the time to read it) then send them a message (on the profile page right next to “add friend”) saying “hey, read your stuff, put likes on it, left couple comments” 99 times out of 100, the favor will be returned, and you wont have to listen to the sarcastic shots in forum. takes a little time, but it works.
3. After you have a piece published, go to your content screen. on the right side of the screen you will find a side by side arrow (one up, one down). Click, and you will see a list of icons for sites you can post your triond articles on. Sign up for as many of these as you can.
4. Be respectful in the forums. 90% of the techniques I use to promote my articles, I learned from other Trionders. This is also one of the rare forums where you will recieve negative, although normally constructive, feedback.
Four simple steps. Not quick, though. The whole process will take several hours, but in the process, you will enjoy some modicum of success.
If you’re here to grow as a writer, it is a good spot. But keep your ears open, be respectful to your peers, they will help you along the way. Good Luck.

You can get rich from anything – - but Triond is not an overnight endeavor, in fact no business really ever is – - but perseverence and belief in your dreams makes success-so.
Etiquette is important as well. It is wise to learn that asking other people to do things for you when they don’t even know you is never the best way to go about things. The more you give the more you receive. If you want more views, give views to other people, etc.
Nice article.
Blessings.
Sincerely,
-Liane Schmidt.

There are some many tips and tricks out there that people throw out, but I have a feeling there really is no realy trick to it. If people read your stuff then they do, if not…oh well?
June 14th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
Haha I\’m ashamed to admit I fell at your number 2 suggestion when first starting at Triond just a few weeks ago… failing to realize that any plea for views on the forum is inherently seen as another way of saying “I want to make money” rather than “I want feedback,” I sadly requested views and comments, even promising views in return. Little did I know I was walking exactly in the footsteps of pretty much every new Triond user ever to have wanted to see their pathetic view numbers shoot up. And now look at me- ranting in response to an article calling out my flaws, when all I really wanted to do was tell you how true this rings! Anyway, sage words. I’ll be reading more of your stuff.

Mmm, interesting and insightful. Honestly, when I was a new writer many moons ago on Triond I sought out the help of the seasoned veterans. It wasn’t for views, it was for advice.
I still read and comment on all of their articles, and when a new trionder needs advice, if I have the time, and I usually make it, I will do what I can.
Relationships are important on Triond and new writers need to understand that.

Outstanding work, as a newbee, I’ll take all the advice I can get. Thanks, you helped me out.
June 15th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
Very helpful! Thank you. Just what I was looking for as a noob!
June 17th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
Good sound advice, I sure hope it helps. Looking around at other things people wrote, I’ve also found that by stirring up controversy some people have probably achieved a couple hundred hits per article. I need all the advice I can get though, so thanks for the help. So far, you see, as my Earnigns page so eloquently shows, I have earned $0.00.

I write every day. The main reason for that is, I can’t wait to find out what I am going to say…
July 27th, 2009 at 1:51 am
I did not think that this would be profittable although that would be nice too bad it’s that way I mean a couple pennies for so much soul and talent to be seen.

After a couple of weeks on Triond, even a new commer would realize that what you say is true and one would have to be ‘pretty dumb’ if one didn’t!
