About not making money from Triond

I joined Triond some seven months back. Lately I have been reading articles in the form of heart-breaks about making money through one’s writing and getting them published in Triond. Some authors have given nice tips and some have expressed total frustration and gone to greener pastures !!

Although money is a welcome thing, it is not my primary consideration at all. Why not write for the love of it? If your piece is accepted and you find it in print right before you eyes you must feel thrilled. That’s something great, isn’t it? I too experienced that kind of ecstasy when one of my contributions was published, of course, after receiving several rejection slips. That was yars back.

Writing does cost you something; your time, which is precious to anyone; and cost of paper and postage etc. But contributing to Triond costs you nothing; it’s for a song. With no investment on your part, shouldn’t you feel happy at reading your work in cold print in an e-magazine. Don’t worry about money. When the Editor returns your article for ‘revision’, don’t get angry at him; he knows what he is doing. And whenever I looked back at the ‘revision call’ , I did find always something wrong possibly because I had been in too much of a hurry to send off the darned thing. And you are doubly careful in your next attempt.

Sometime Triond too gives you an applause of sorts; indirect ones, of course. One day I was amazed to see the ‘publishing notification’ within 15 minutes. I wondered if the Editor had fallen in love with my submission. However, it was a moment to cherish.

Finally, my new friends and first time contributors, Triond is a platform to verify your skill on the writing art. Take it that way and you would enjoy sending articles after articles. Worry not about the returns for them.
