"My world does not have wars. We do not disagree. Our existence is Utopia, until one Abby Dante comes along to ruin it all. Her ideas are far-fetched, wild, impossible. She sees the world differently than the rest of us. I think I love her."
Abby Dante is a story about a rebel. She’s fifteen, clever, and independent. However, she is stuck in a world where anything “different” is outlawed. Bridgemont High School is just one of many similar schools in this dystopian future America. When Abby Dante transfers in, the students at the school know that she did something bad. You don’t just move and switch schools- you get relocated, and relocation is never a good sign. (If you get relocated more than six times- well…)
The story is told from the first person point of view of Sam Harris, an average Bridgmont student of all-but-average intelligence. He is conflicted in whether to trust Abby- she goes against everything he’s ever been told. But is she right?
There is a strong Christian influence in the book. The original inspiration was the fact that Christians are often seen as the bad guy, and refusing to conform is sometimes frowned upon, even if it was unintentional.
I wrote this book for NaNoWriMo last year. That’s a writing “competition” where everyone chooses to write a 50,000-word novel during the month of November. I was happy to complete the task, really in about twenty days because I skipped a few, and this wonderful story was the product. After editing out some wordy passages and completely rewriting the ending for a third time, I posted the story online on Wattpad.com. I entered it in a writing contest called the “Watty Awards” under the spiritual category. Then, I advertised like CRAZY. Currently, the book is holding the spot for most popular spiritual book in the Watty Awards. It’s been in that spot for a few months now. Popularity is what the judging is based on, so I’m in the line to win.
The contest only has about a month and a half left before round two. That means if you’d like to read it, please do so now and help me out. If a few people were to drop by and just read the first chapter, I would be thrilled. Here’s the link to the story: Abby Dante
If you read it and you don’t have a wattpad account, feel free to comment here and tell me what you thought of it! Thanks!

This was a fantastic story! Ever thought about trying to get it published? As in by an official publisher? Or even just online as an ebook?

Well I mean it’s already online… I just don’t think this is the story that’s gonna make it. I have a few other ideas up my sleeve for real publishing.
