A Whisper’s Silent Plea (Poem)

English sonnet.

A cloud a mist a soft forgotten kiss
Was floating just beyond my will to see
A dream I missed along some memory
Which beckons to my soul return to this

A cry a sigh a whisper’s silent plea
A teardrop that a river did dismiss
Now plies a scythe to compound this abyss
And dances past the last of left of me

So brave the night when teardrops douse the light
And shrouds of clouds do add to life’s dismay
Tormented dream so lost amid the why

The mist the sighs tomorrows set aright
While rays of hope teach teardrops how to play
And flowers promise kisses if I try
