In a span of three hours my views fell from over 300 to a mere 29, while my earnings showed a very healthy increase during the same period. It is indeed a mystery as to how this could have occurred.
As writers it is important to most of us to keep track of our views, know if they are going up, down, or staying the same. We do this because keeping track in this matter tells us when we need to work a bit harder on our self promotion and when we can simply coast for a day or two and simply indulge in our passion for writing.
Normally, keeping track of my views is a simple and pretty cut and dried routine, especially here on Triond where you can see if your views are going up or down at a glance. However, today that graft has presented me with a mystery.
Finding it impossible to sleep last night I arose at around 3 am this morning. The first thing I did, is follow my usual pattern of turning on the computer and checking the views on all my sites. Here on Triond a simple glance at graft showed me that my views were in the normal range. They had been down for a couple of days, but seemed to be climbing back up steadily.
That seemed like a good thing to me, so after commenting on a few articles, I went off to do a few chores around the house and then took an hours nap around 7 am. Turning back on my computer I was somewhat surprised to see that my graft had changed dramatically. Where at 3 am this morning the number of views on my graft showed over 300 now they are down to a mere 29 views for yesterday.
What makes everything even more of a mystery is that on my individual articles one article shows a jump in views of over 100 over night. My earnings too show a healthy increase over what I had yesterday.
It is all pretty perplexing. Added to that there are only four articles listed on the hot content list on my dashboard page. So, either I need a cup of coffee because I am not seeing straight, or I may have to wait a day or two to see if this mystery unravels itself.
For now I will try the coffee.

Yes I noticed it too! Day before yesterday my visit trends show that I had 700 views but yesterdays views were only 84? Strangely enough, since yesterday to today I’ve had a jump of nearly $3 which is VERY BIZARRE… And even more strangely enough, one of my articles shows that from Oct 5-6 I have 400 odd views…VERY VERY STRANGE…
I guess Triond is jibbing out a bit!

I think you need to be patient. Things usually sort themselves out if you wait.

Hey Martie, I have the same thing. My last article, which was published way back on 30th September, because I’ve had a terrible cold, received over 100 hits alone yesterday, yet my dashboard says 30 visitors in total. The hot list is just bizarre – I’ve seen it like that several times.

My earnings did not change yesterday but then they nearly doubled today. Guess they have some glitches to work out but it would be nice if the pay started increasing for once.

It is funny you mention that because I do had quite a drop in viewers with a nice increase in cents. Over time I am sure it will balance out, even thou I too was disappointed this morning.

Same here, Martie.

Martie…I saw the same too..My views have dropped dramatically and I still earned. The rumour is Triond is getting a new software to promote its sites…well guess it is paying off without even the needs to view! :p
Good news for us!

Same here!!

I’m facing the same problem. My views also dropped suddenly. Hopefully every thing will be alright soon.

Same here. No doubt something’s up. We’ll just have to wait it out.

Thank God it’s not only me that has this problem. I got around 200 views and it’s dropped to 37 suddenly. If you notice, the hot contents also become 4 instead of 10.
I think this is a temporary problem. I’ve submitted a problem report to Triond, I hope this will be fixed soon.

I personally think the view chart is a waste of space and that they should make some useful additions to the site. I’ve had the same thing happen
October 6th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
Me too. I feel to a mere 17 after I added up my views from yesterday and was 1000
October 6th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
I seem to have had the same thing happen to me. My graph says I only had 20 views yesterday!
October 6th, 2009 at 7:42 pm
It was strange for me too. I dropped down to 5 views and I have never had just 5 views.
October 6th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Strange indeed! Think positive!

I had the same problem starting with a sharp increase in views on 10/4 then on 10/5 a sharp drop that was so low in number of views it simply did not make sense. Unlike some of you, the rate of pay on the most recent article dropped to 1 cent per 30 views. Prior to that all articles had an average of about 1 cent per 10 view. I wrote to Triond and was given an answer that explained nothing.

here too. I wrote them and have not had a reply. I assume its just the graph is broken. I find the graphs intersting but they take so darn long to load.

It will all sort itself out in the long run. Who knows what snags the site might have run into. I wouldn’t worry about it.
October 9th, 2009 at 8:59 am
Same to me… From 300 to 33
October 10th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
My views on the graph do not match up with the content statistics when I sort views for particular days. The graph views are way down from what my actual views were. Hmm . . .
