10 Killer Internet Companies That Want To Pay You to Write

Its every writer’s dream to make money doing exactly what they already enjoy doing. The Internet has created new opportunities for writers around the world to express themselves and get paid for doing exactly that, to write.

Its every writer’s dream to make money doing exactly what they already enjoy doing. The Internet has created new opportunities for writers around the world to express themselves and get paid for doing exactly that, to write.

The Internet has made it possible for ordinary people like yourself to write and make money from the very thing that you already enjoy doing. Webmasters are consistently on the lookout to partner with eager writers that desire to share their passions with other people around the world. Most smart webmasters have already learned that in order to attract and maintain a healthy population of amazing authors is to share the ad revenue or just pay them well for their services.

Personally, I have always enjoyed writing and have equally enjoyed helping my fellow writers locate the very best writing opportunities available online and offline. By working together we all can achieve some measure of success and readership for our works. This is exactly the main reason for writing these types of articles for me. I just enjoy watching people succeed.

Some of the following opportunities I have personal, first-hand experience writing for or dealing with and I have included a mention regarding the programs that I am currently involve with and/or have written for or dealt with in the past. Honestly, I only have a finite amount of time to write and for me, writing for no more than a couple of services in all I can manage effectively.

If you would like to learn about other writing opportunities that I have written about in the past, then check out Five Fantastic Freelance Websites for Writers Earning an Income honest living doing exactly what makes you happy.

  1. Triond

I can personally testify that Triond has one of the very best writing programs on the Internet, today. Writers can write about practically anything subject under-the-sun within the boundaries of common sense. Triond rewards their writers 50% of the ad revenues that is generated from the author’s published articles. I have never had any problems getting paid and in my personal experience, I have been paid very well.

  2. StoryMash

This is a relatively new website to me, but after visiting and checking things out I can see the potential in participating in this program. StoryMash is a community of like-minded writers that write and publish stories one chapter at a time. Once the writer’s chapter is published, and then other writers can write the next chapter in any way that they choose to write it. So, the stories at StoryMash start with the first chapter written by you, and then after that the story may have five second chapter and so on. You get paid at least 50% of all third party ad revenue. You must have a Google Adsense Account, so that you can earn money in the StoryMash program.

  3. Xomba

Write Xombytes for Xomba and earn real cash monies from the ad revenue earned from the things that you write. Xomba members must have a Google Adsense Account, so that they can earn money in the program. Xomba pays 50% of the ad revenue generated from the articles and blogs that you write.

  4. ReviewParty

If you are writer that enjoys sharing your opinion about the movies that you watch or the music that you listen to or about the commercial products that you normally purchase, then ReviewParty is a program that you should seriously consider. It is very simple, just write reviews about the products that you currently use and get paid for sharing your opinions. ReviewParty pays 50% of the ad revenue that your review(s) generate through Google Adsense, but you must have a Google Adsense Account to participate in the program.

  5. Daytipper

Earn $1.00 for earn insightful tip that you write and is accepted by Daytipper and published. Share what you know with people who want to know what you know.

  6. CREAMaid

This service lets you meet other bloggers with similar interests as you, and make money while doing it. Write an interesting blog about anything that you are interest in as long as they abide in accordance to the CREAMaid writing guidelines and rules. It is not clear how much of the ad revenue is shared in part of the royalty program, but by writing a couple of blogs I am sure you will learn what it is exactly.

  7. LetterRep

The LetterRep program pays writers to write letters that are designed to sell to companies or individuals who are in need of professionally written letters to be used as possible mail outs or other marketing needs. Writers are paid every time a LetterRep client purchases or request one of the letters that you have had published through LetterRep. The payouts vary depending on the type of request that you receive.

  8. ReviewStream

ReviewStream is consistently seeking writers to write comprehensive and professionally written product reviews. Writers can write about any commercial product that they choose to write about, but it is always best to have actually used the products before writing a review about it. Writers can earn up to $2.00 per accepted review and an additional 10 cents for every vote that their review receives from actual visitors. There are some writing guidelines to consider before beginning the program, so be sure to take time to read them carefully. I have personal experience writing for this company and I know first hand that you can potentially earn a nice second income, if you work at it long enough.

  9. FeedtheVillage

Writers earn money simply by sharing your knowledge, advice, opinions and life experiences with others who will read what you have written for FeedtheVillage. It is not perfectly clear how much you can potentially earn using this program, but I am sure with a little time this question can be answered.

  10. MatrixMails

Now, I find this program really quite interesting as there are many ways to earn money through this website. However, this article is strictly about writing opportunities where eager writers can earn money from the things that they write, so here is what I know about this program. Writers get paid to write articles in the English language and can earn additional bonuses for the accumulate clickthru received through your membership. Like I have already mentioned this is not the only way to start making money in this program, so you may want to check them all out once you have some extra free time to spare.

Thank you for this great post.

I have to agree 100% about StoryMash, it’s my new favorite writing site. Not only is it fun, but the community feedback is excellent, and many of the stories are amazing! The StoryMash structure of many collaborative authors is proving to be a revolution in history of literature.

One correction, an adsense account is not needed for StoryMash

I can personally testify for the LetterRep.com program. It’s awesome and they are working to improve it. Right now, lots of customers come to the site and submit requests for letters to be written. Many of the customers pay in advance. A writer composes a letter in response to the request. If the customer likes the excerpt of the letter that they get to see and purchases it, the writer gets $10.00. The letter, however, stays on the site in the writer’s inventory as a template for future customers to come and purchase. If they do, the writer makes another $10.00. I think the top writer in 2007 made close to $2K. LetterRep is the only place I’ve ever found that pays any real money.

    Great article.

I have written at feedthevillage.com – just a few articles and earned $5.30 in Jan – and then $26.27 in February on the Articles I had already written. I like the fact that they split all of the site revenue with the contributors and I actually mad more money on the same articles.

I spoke with one of the guys at feedthevillage.com (Actually Jonathan Partlow the founder)and asked why I made more without writing anything additional. He was very honest and told me that they did not go live until January of 2008 and they are just now getting the advertisers on the site to create the revenue.

I like the fact that all articles remain in the pool and it is residual and the more they grow the more I make as they pay every month residual income on the articles For me I had to decide if I wanted $5 and article 1 time or if I would rather get paid on that article forever.

The concept is cool and after speaking with Mr. Partlow I could just tell that he truly believes in the “village” concept. I don’t know what the total potential is on income as it is based on revenue of the site. I will be writing more at feedthevillage.com as I do like the concept that if we are all in this together and our success is their success.

I’ve got another to add to the list of give ‘em a try: associatedcontent.com. You have your choice, there, of either earning strictly by the pageview or to submit it for a payment review upfront (and then get the pageview earnings on top of it). I’ve submitted each of my articles through the review process and generally see about $4 from each of them, then get the money as people view it, too.

Thanks for the article – the storymash site sounds very interesting, as I’ve quite a collection of stories I’ve begun but never knew where to take them by about chapter 10. This ought to be an interesting experiment!

Nelson, I see with Triond you cannot publish with them anything you have previously published. So I assume it is okay to first submit to them and then to your blog?

  • Nelson Doyle
    April 2nd, 2008 at 6:08 pm

    Hi Wade -

I have known of some Triond Writers to do post articles that they have written on their blog once Triond had published the article first. I have chosen not to, because I believe that it is better in the longrun to write original content for just one or two publishers.

There are many publishers who prefer that their writers not publish (reprint) their articles in more than one place. It’s the original content that gives a website an edge over the competition. Plus, who knows, writers really could be hurting their own revenue potential from self-competing against their own work. A writer may realize that Triond (only an example) actually pays them more than the writer’s own blog does in the longrun. So, by reprinting an article over and over again could actually derail your marketing plans and earning potential at the same time.

Writers are a stupid lot. If you think you can get rich or even make a worthwhile income form these sites you are a dreamer. You might have made money from this article but it is only because writers or would be writers are so gullible. The money earned compared to the effort is lower than slave labour or third world wages. And there is no panel review of articles so that much of the writing is very very poor. Grammmer, spelling…who needs it. If you write on these sites, it is for fun, personal development, dreaming the dream, bit it is not, repeat not to make any worthwhile money. Be honest. Even adding killer to your article title is a marketing ploy.

  • Rick
    April 3rd, 2008 at 3:11 am

    To: john tippett

You might be right about some of these sites, but not all… I have made over $200 from one of these sites since January, and I do consider this “worthwhile income”. Even if it was $20, it was worth my time simply for the fun of it… and I’m no great writer!

  • Bacon
    April 3rd, 2008 at 12:02 pm

    To: John Tippett

As a writer – Call me gullible.

If gullible is defined as someone who cares enough to take the time to write and share a thought, help another or make a dream possible.

I use these sites to help others and hone my skills.

I use these sites as they make me think, exercise my mind and grow my abilities and myself.

You see Mr Tippett – the world is full of those would rather take the time and energy to squash another persons hopes rather than help someone achieve.

It may not make a fortune and it might – I know that if you don’t try then it never “will make anything for you or of you!”

By the way I became to think about and understand that philosophy after a quote I read on feedthevillage.com – here is the quote “It is more important what it makes OF you than what it makes you.”

Someone took the time to write that down – I took the time to read it and embrace the idea.

So for my part – I will write on that site – Not because of what it makes me BUT because of what it makes OF me to do so!

What did it make of YOU to thrash, trash and bash the others on here?

I will only say IF you are NOT part of the solution YOU are part of the problem!

  • Layne
    April 3rd, 2008 at 12:14 pm

    Well said Bacon –

I just visited the feedthevillagecom site and have to say that I am impressed – it is more than just a writing site – it’s almost a movement – thy actually believe that together we can make a difference.

I can tell that the site is young but they are letting us dictate how it grows and what it becomes and I have never had that opportunity before.

Usually, by the time I find out about a site they have already grown so big (myspace, facebook, youtube) they are so big that they don’t care about the people that are on it or what we think.

I will see what it can make “OF ME” to participate!

Thanks Nelson for writing this article.

I would not have discovered this site without it.

  • Zeroth
    April 3rd, 2008 at 9:26 pm

I wanted to point out that upon examination of Triond’s Terms of Agreement, they own an “unirrevocable” non-paid license to your work, to use as they wish, nor do they have to share all proceeds of your work with you. I want complete control of my content… I don’t want to have signed over my writing to another company to use as they wish.

To the poster who said writing for such sights is slave labor, they must not have tried it. A good writer on associated content can make around 7 to 8 dollars an article. At two articles an hours, you can make 15 an hour. In addition, I just made 80 dollars for page hits off of one article. Now I won’t get rich, and no it isn’t a full time income, but 400 extra cash a month isn’t bad with our present economy. I know people who earn a living between Associated Content, Essay Write and Constant content. You would have to put in eight hours a day, but you could easily earn around 100 to 125 a day clear. YOu can make between 10 and 15 an hour. Consider the savings on gas, no day care, and eating lunch at home, and it comes out cheaper than working outside the home.

For the past month I’ve been writing for Triond. I really don’t like their editing styles, as they never contact me to see how I may feel about any editing they may do. It seems that they forget that while I post Poetry and Articles on their site, these Poems and Articles are mine, I am the orginal writer of them and want to be involved in any editing of my work. More so, I find that one of my articles has generated nearly 200 page views yet I think I’ve only made a few cents. Perhaps it might be wise of me to try some of the places you mentioned here. Thanks for the tips.

I agree with Comment #45 by john tippett. As a serious writer, I don’t blog or post or comment or reply or write for under $30 per page. These websites are a joke. Any writer who takes his or her career (and contributions) seriously wouldn’t dare stoop so low as to labor for the HOPE of an adsense click. Perhaps these folks need to head on over to the occupational handbook and learn what writing really earns. I’m sorry, but I’m just worth too much. Too bad a lot of other writers aren’t.

Some people here think writing online is a waste of time due to the LITTLE earned money but they don’t know that the little bit of income generated through these websites can make a small difference in your life wether it is paying the bills or so on. They do help! I have to check out that village one!

Wow, 1$ for my time. How amazingly bad. I can’t believe that people think this is the way to start a writing career, you would be better off starting and promoting your own blog on blogger (like this one http://www.realfreelancelife.com ) then at least you get all of the money.

Hey Nelson, thanks for the great article! A friend sent me this link a few months ago, now I’m on Triond and Xomba. My earnings are growing daily with both! I came back to take another look at your article and check out some other sites you mentioned here. Thanks again, Allison

I would have to say that Review Stream just does not seem worth while. They do not pay well or treat people with respect. See “http://www.writinghood.com/Writing/Why-You-Shouldnt-Bother-Writing-for-Review-Stream.321429″ for more comments on ReviewStream.

A very resourceful article that I shall use to do some research upon. Nicely written in a friendly and helpful tone without the added drag. Thanks for sharing this one.

I had to bookmark this one! By the way, can any other writers please clarify the “irrevokable,” term in Triond. I do understand that we own the copyright in Triond.

I might consider alternatives but I am generally happy with Triond. Any ideas?

    Thanks . j

I’ve bookmarked this. I was not entirely happy with Review Stream as they kept automatically telling me they didn’t want my reviews so I just shrugged and said “It isn’t worth it, I guess.” Some of those I’ve never heard of but I will look into them.

Also, Suite101 is an excellent website. So far it’s the best paying of it’s kind.

Anyways, thanks for the helpful info. I’ve added you as a friend. :)
