I agree with you that how much violence is allowable depends on the genre. It's interesting how much violence there is in the Bible. Yes, the Bible. The Bible was written in a very violent age. So, it is very much a record of its time. I don't face so much the problem of how much violence to put in my fiction. My problem is how much sex am I allowed to put in my Triond short fiction.
