George Martin should have written his books (Game of Thrones etc) as proper Sword and Sorcery. He waffles on way too much in them and it makes for such a difficult, boring read for the most part. He’s got such wonderful ideas, too much fluff though.

Great article! I’ve been a sword and sorcery fanatic for years. I’m actually going through the Wheel of Time series again right now, as much of it that has been written anyway.
