Six Degrees to Kevin Bacon, Two Degrees to Marilyn Monroe, Now How About You?

So if you haven’t played six degrees of separation this is basically the way:

“Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of ‘a friend of a friend’ statements can be made, on average, to connect any two people in six steps or fewer.”

So, I was thinking tonight and it hit me I am only two degrees from the Marilyn Monroe. Here is the chain: my mom, my mom shook John F. Kennedy’s hand back when he was campaigning to become President, and we all know JFK had ties with Miss Monroe. Well it is not so much friends of friends but it gets me to Marilyn so I’ll take it, ha!

Then I am also two degrees away from Barack Obama. Here is the chain: My daughter, when Barack Obama made a stop here in Scranton last year to speak at the high school, he made a specific stop at one of my daughter’s third grade teacher’s house, so two degrees to Mr. President.

Now how about you out there, which celebrities or world leaders are you just a few degrees from?
