Life changes made throughout the entire play of Hamlet.
In society it is said life is nothing more than a river of choices, every day before work or school, we must all make choices of what to do for various reasons whether its what to wear, what to eat, or whether to do homework assignments. Etc. Some choices are better
While other can lead to harsh consequences. In Shakespeare’s classic novel Hamlet,
The prince of Denmark is caught with a hard decision over what to do with his murderous uncle. By choice he may avenge his father’s ghost by killing his uncle, but death isn’t always an easy decision as we will soon find out.
In the novel Hamlet the protagonist and prince of Denmark, Hamlet is characterized as being deceiving, and vengeful towards his mother Gertrude because of “her failure to
Differentiate intolerable strain on hamlet and her choice to get married to her husband’s brother”. (Adelman, 257). Gertrude chooses Claudius over her own son Hamlet, which led him to madness and more disappointment. In the beginning of the book, Hamlet encounters his father’s ghost who tells him of his death and also reveals that his brother Claudius was responsible for his death because he wanted to take over the throne and desperately become king.
Hamlets decision to kill Claudius goes wrong when he unintentionally kills
Polonius instead thinking it was Claudius. Polonius’s son eventually finds out about his fathers death, which leads to his pursuit of vengeance towards hamlet as a result of the
information given to him given to him by Claudius. As a result to Gertrude unfaithfulness, hamlet has some level of hatred towards women which leads him to drive his love away.
Hamlet claimed not to love Ophelia which was very ironic because he once professed his love to her, leading her to go crazy and eventually drown herself in addition to her father’s death. “Hamlet sees his task as a disruption of marriage” “subject to the same frailty thy names his mother” (Adelman, 257). As a result to the information given to him by his father hamlet decides to talk to his mom in a very harsh manner, which leads Gertrude to wonder if his son has gone completely crazy.
Because of the choices made in the novel, Hamlet chose “not to be”, “instead to be”
Which lead to his own downfall, and many others.
