The Review of Related Literature plays an important role when writing a research proposal/thesis. It gives you a lot of ideas on what you can do and what to do with your research and it can also be a supporting document(s)/studies to your research work/Thesis.

Why do college students always fail to make it right?

In most cases, college students often had a problem with the literature review of their thesis/research. Some do not know how to do it, some are just very lazy to do it, some doesn’t listen to their professors on how to do it, and for some instances, their professor itself doesn’t know what really a review of related literature means. As a result, poor students failed to do it right and if ever there are groupings with the research/thesis, the whole group will suffer.

How to make it right? And how to prevent Plagiarism!

Writing a literature review is really simple, you just need to search for facts about any related article regarding your research/thesis. You can use the Internet, journals, books, other research work/thesis and a lot that you think can be a medium to gather resources. A researcher needs to be resourceful in order for the research/thesis to move smoothly, be factual and reliable.

Internet is the most used medium of researchers nowadays specially college students, but be warned! Cause not all articles that are written on the Internet are true and reliable, be vigilant and very careful while using the Internet and using others post as a supporting document for your research. As a researcher, you need to be thorough and make sure that the study can be trusted nor can possibly be used as a literature review for your papers. Do not just copy paste, read it, understand it and write it. Copy pasting is one hell of a sin while writing a research work as it can be a cause of some very serious lawsuit to you and/or the researchers. You can be sewed for plagiarizing an article and can be summon to a court anytime. And also, never forget to cite the author of the article as he/she is the real author and the real person who discover such topic.

The good question for this one is, how to cite the author of the original article? Well, it’s really simple! Just write first the whole name/name of the author and then followed by the year, when the article was submitted or published followed by the writings. And that’s it! A Related literature for your thesis.

Before I end this topic, for those of you who still can’t comprehend on How to cite the author, here is a sample of a literature review, with the author cited including the date it was published or submitted.

Sample # 1:According to Mr Tinker Tinker (2011), creating a literature is very easy and fun and so on and so forth.

Sample # 2:Mr. Tinker (2011), Stated that, plagiarism will not help you and your thesis progress.

Sample # 3: Mr. Tinker (2011), Included on his article that, dental fear, or phobia are most common seen on children.
